Even when you “win” the game, you condemn the Algol peoples back to the stone age, leave a wake of dead people behind you, and ultimately face death aboard an earth ship by being overwhelmed by a superior force. I’d like to think that look on Eusis’ face was him about to use a technique to blow up the entire ship, taking the last remnants of humanity with him and the dying heroes. Why Lutz chose to sentence the unused party members to death as well seems rather cruel. Then again, Eusis had the Nei Sword and could have left at any time.
